A Word from the Director

I am so thrilled to be a part of the Briarcliff Nursery School community! In the 20 years that I have been working in the field of early childhood education, I have rarely come across teachers as warm, thoughtful, and dedicated as the teachers at BNS. Although I just recently joined the BNS family, I can already tell that each day here is filled with smiles, laughter, and learning. I cannot imagine a better way to spend my days!

Before taking on the role of director at BNS, I had the pleasure of working in a variety of interesting positions and settings. Between 1998 and 2010, I received a B.A. in Theater/Education from Marymount Manhattan College, a M.A. in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College, and an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University. In addition to my educational preparation, I have had the pleasure of working as a toddler and preschool teacher, a college professor, a curriculum developer, and an early childhood trainer and coach. These experiences prepared me well for working with the amazing teachers, families, and children at Briarcliff Nursery School.

Whether you are a current family at BNS or someone interested in learning more about the school, I am always happy to speak with you! Feel free to reach out anytime.

Sincerely,

Lisa Beck
